Overview

ODE 3D Orbit lets you edit the equations, scrub the constants, and watch chaotic attractors integrate live in 3D. Sixteen systems ship built in, from Lorenz 1960 and 1963 and Lorenz-96 rings through Thomas, Lotka-Volterra, Kuramoto, Rössler, Chen, Halvorsen, Aizawa, Rabinovich-Fabrikant, and two four-variable hyperchaotic systems, with a ring generator that copies one rule across up to 40 wrapping variables the way Lorenz-96 is constructed. Integration is RK4 with step-size control, and the Lorenz-1960 view shows conserved-quantity drift so a bad time step is visible immediately. Zero build step: vanilla ES modules and Three.js, MIT-licensed, live on Vercel.

Change Anything While It Runs

The equations, the starting values, and the constants are all editable live. Every constant gets a slider, step buttons, and a draggable name chip.

insights

Numerical Honesty

Equations compile into one solver function with plain-language error messages, and the Lorenz-1960 view displays conserved-quantity drift, where big drift means a bad time step. Numerics you can see, not just trust.
